Research about wartime hero featured on BBC World News

Carl Lutz

BBC World News has featured associate professor Charlotte Schallié's research into the largely forgotten wartime hero Carl Lutz.

The story of the Swiss diplomat has received widespread coverage, including most recently in a radio story on BBC World News and an BBC online article about Lutz, called "The forgotten Swiss diplomat who rescued thousands from Holocaust."

Schallié co-authored a book of survivor testimonies called Under Swiss ProtectionJewish Eyewitness Accounts from Wartime Budapest, which was co-edited with Lutz's stepdaughter, Agnes Hirschi.
